June 3rd is Pioneer Day. Your child may dress up in Pioneer type clothes (long dress/skirt, bonnet, jeans, cowboy hat, boots, etc). We will be making butter, cornbread, a patchwork "quilt", panning for gold, and making corn husk dolls. We need some parent help and we could also use chocolate coins and containers of whipping cream. The children will exchange their "gold" for chocolate coins. June 9th is the All School BBQ and Field Day. The kindergarten students are each asked to bring 24 individual chip bags. Your child may wear shorts, their field trip t-shirt and athletic type shoes. Kindergarten is responsible for an activity. It will be movement to music. We need some parent helpers for that station. Please let me know if you can help. Please send in a large paper bag on June 9th. We will send home, the remaining school supplies, writing journal, paint smock, etc. on the last day of school. As the end of school approaches, we will begin to take things off the wall and clean the room. These tasks help the children begin to understand that our school year is coming to an end. Children may go through a whole range of feelings as they come to terms with the end of Kindergarten. Some children will be extremely excited, some may be a little fearful, but most will experience feelings that fluctuate between the two. They may be excited and looking forward to First Grade, and moments later, they may feel apprehensive. These feelings are normal. Remind your child that it is okay to talk about their feelings. (It is also normal for parents to be feeling some of these same feelings!) Thank you for sharing this precious time with Miss McKee, Mrs. Davis and myself. We have been richly blessed by your friendships and your children. Talent Show is June 4 and will be held in the gym at 1:30. Children are welcome to sing, dance, do tricks, etc. Revitalization Celebration - Celebrate 50 years with POP Date: June 1, 2008 Time: 10:00-11:30 church service Lunch: BBQ from Texas Roadhouse Music will be provided Activities: crafts, games, Jump House with slide for the younger children, Blow up slide, obstacle course, snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, horse shoes, football throw, potato sack races and more. Please send in the RSVP by Wednesday. Pioneer Day June 3rd. We will be making butter, corn husk dolls, panning for gold, etc. with our Buddy class. We will need lots of help. Snacks According to the new FDA food pyramid, children need up to 7 fruits and vegetables per day. Please send snack items that help fulfill this requirement and develop lifelong healthy eating habits.
Please remember that in Kindergarten, you are helping your child build lifelong attitudes about life. One of the life long attitudes they are developing concerns being on time. Please remember that it is important to help your child learn the value of being somewhere on time, and to manage their time wisely. Help them learn to pinpoint factors that are contributing to tardiness and find solutions.

(recited on Fridays) Each month the students will memorize a well-known saying, Bible verses and/or songs. We will practice these in class. Please review the verses or memory work at home. Wise Quote (to be recited in chapel on Friday is to help students see the importance of learning through obedience at home and school). It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it. Eleanor Roosevelt Famous Quote A place for everything and everything in its place. Faith Baldwin Bible verse - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
