Sunday Morning Adult Studies

Every Sunday morning there are three different opportunities for Bible study (all in the Alpha Room).  Adult Bible Studies offer a different form of Christian fellowship; open attendance policies combined with convenient meeting times, centered around God’s word, allow the development of a wide variety of Christian friends and acquaintances.  Adult Bible Studies usually use inductive methods, making for significant individual participation, discovery, and some life application.

8:00 a.m.  Early Bird Study  Next Sunday we begin a new study of The Lord’s Prayer as seen through the eyes of Middle Eastern Christians. We invite you to join us for this journey into the life and mind of Jesus, a Middle Easterner himself. The coffee will be hot, and the “early birds” will be awake. Led by Pastor Sauer.

9:00 a.m.  Resurrection Appearances of Jesus  Here is tangible help to develop deliberate personal goals that allow you to grow in your relationship with Jesus. Jenny Dormoy will lead “Developing an Individual Discipleship Plan.”

10: 30 a.m. “Christian Caregiving: a Way of Life”  Today in our continuing series on “Christian Caregiving: a Way of Life” we will look at “The Tools of the Trade.” How can we best use prayer and the Bible to support ourselves and others through life’s struggles? When dos caregiving become Christian? This class will normally be led by Pastor Sauer through June 22.

All adult studies are in the Alpha Room, there’s Kid’s Kount and nursery, so grab your coffee and join us!

Basics -- A Foundational Study of the Christian Faith

Have you felt God tugging on you, but you don’t really know where to start in your spiritual life?  The Basics Bible Study is a good place to begin.  It runs for five weeks and covers . . . well, the basics.  This includes addressing questions like

  • “Who is God?”

  • “How do I know God cares about me?”

  • “Why is Jesus so important?” “How can I hear God speak to me?”

  • “What are the big things God wants me to know?”

Pastor Zelt leads this study on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m., beginning January 14 and continuing through February 11. Child care is provided, everyone is invited, and you don’t need to sign up in advance.  Questions?  Call the church office at 793-3366. If you would like to help with the childcare during the BASICS classes, please contact Evon Thomas at 793-3366 x265.

Individual Discipleship Plan

You got the book mark, now attend the seminar!  Do you have a clear plan for how you will grow in your faith over the coming months?  A coach guides an athlete so he can perform better, just like a financial planner puts you on a course to better off financially.  Why not develop an Individual Discipleship Plan?  There are two identical upcoming 1½ hour seminars specifically designed to guide you in developing a plan for your spiritual growth.

Each seminar walks through six areas of growth, providing tools to assess where you are at and what might be your best next step.  All the seminars will be in the Alpha Room.  Questions?  Talk with Jenny Dormoy, Pastor Zelt, or your small group leader.

 Saturday, February 2, at 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 9, at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m.
