Sunday Morning Bible Study: Jesus: Authentic Leader
Sunday morning provides us with an excellent opportunity to gather around the Word with fellow believers and apply that refreshing Word to our own daily lives. It also helps to prepare us for worship in the following hour.
The second Sunday in September we will begin a new study that will help us not only with our own life struggles but will also help us to reach out to others in their struggles.
The theme will be “Living with Change,” and topics will include “Threat or Opportunity?” and “How Do I Put Up With the Uncertainties Caused by Change?” We all deal with change in our lives in many ways, and the Word gives us some clear direction as to how we can best deal with those changes for ourselves and how we can be helpful to others.
Pastor Sauer leads at 8:00 and John Wagenbach at 9:00.
September 13 we hope to resume our 10:30 group.
You are also welcome to pick up your cup of coffee in the Gathering Place before joining us for study in the Alpha Room.
Basics - A Foundational Study of the Christian Faith
For those just starting out on their spiritual journey or those who want a review. This five week study will be offered on Monday evenings from 7:00-8:30 starting January 11 (child care is provided).
Join us on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Alpha Room, beginning February 15. This class is the follow up study to Basics. If you started with Basics and want to continue, or if you have been part of Basics before, we invite you to join us for this study. Childcare is provided.
Some of the topics we will look at are: The two basic teachings of God - Law and Gospel, The Law of God, The Holy Spirit and His work in our lives, Baptism, The Lord’s Supper. If you have any questions, you may contact the church office or Pastor Zelt at tzelt@popfremont.org.
New Member Orientation
New Member Orientation . . . For those who have completed Basics & Second Step and would like to become a member of Prince of Peace, or if you would like to transfer your membership from another LCMS church, this one-evening class is for you!
In August we will walk through Titus, Philemon and Jude, three short but powerful letters from God to us.
We meet in the Alpha Room from 10:30 to 11:30 every Wednesday. The study is led by Pastor Zelt.
GriefShare on Tuesday Evenings
The loss of a loved one through death can present the survivor with a real struggle in moving forward in life. GriefShare is a support group that meets once a week for 13 weeks. Each session includes a video seminar and group discussion.
The videos feature top experts on grief recovery, dramatic reenactments about living with grief, and real-life stories of people who have experienced losses through death in various ways.
